POSH chat to Renate Smitham about her business.
P: How long have you been doing what you're doing? R: I learnt to crochet when I was 4 or 5. I have a vivid memory of my mother teaching me the most basic stitch before going to work one morning, practising it kept me entertained all day. Almost 30 years later (in 2015) I came up with the idea of making crochet earrings.
P: What inspires you to create?
R: The excitement of countless possibilities, the sheer joy of creating something new with my own two hands.
P: What would we see on your Christmas list? R: Books and records!
P: If you were a crap Chrissie pressie what would you be?
R: Mismatching socks :) Funky colours and designs too for a bit of fun :)
P: If you were a summer BBQ item which would you be? R: Corn. Because it reminds me of late night (read- early morning) BBQs with friends while studying in China many years ago. Happy memories! My favourite colour too, and most importantly- cruelty free.
